Remote Virtual Medical Scribe Contractor Job Description:

The Remote Scribe Company is expanding and hiring qualified and talented part-time and full-time remote virtual medical scribes as contractors to join our team and grow with us. This Remote Medical Scribe opportunity allows you to be part of our goal and vision to help improve healthcare by giving doctors more time for their patients, reduce wait times, improve the quality and accuracy of Electronic Health Records (EHR)/Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and patient record keeping and summaries by using a Remote Medical Scribe. 

Our remote medical scribes virtually participates in a physician-patient office visit audibly via a computer in the physician's patient room and the scribe enters information real time into the on-line EMR/EHR and electronic patient records as the physician would have done. Scribe's can also set appointment, request records, prepare a prescription order, and more.  Being a remote medical scribe is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for rewarding full or part-time virtual contractor work in the growing medical field as well as offering flexible hours, work from the safety of your home, the ability to earn valuable income,
and career skills/experiences. Our scribes work within the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Monday through Friday. If you prefer to work part-time we have you paired with a physician whose total scheduled patient visiting hours matches your availability. Starting pay is $12 per hour. 

Responsibilities:

  • Use computer and EHR/EMR software applications to capture/annotate necessary physican-patient documentation. 
  • Prepare medical record documentation and charts for physician(s).
  • Ensure medical record compliance
  • Properly update patient history, physical exam and other pertinent health information in the EHR/patient records. 
  • Prepare and send all documentation to the physician for review and approval.
  • Comply with all medical practice policies and HIPPA.

Required/Desired Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • Skilled at operating a personal computer, computer equipment, related software applications, various medical record software, etc. 
  • Keyboard proficiency and accuracy so to accurately keep up with a live physician-patient conversation and accurately draft a narrative account of events accurately via online technology. 
  • Reliable High Speed Internet (not satellite), dedicated quiet workspace.  
  • Preferred: 1 year medical field experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
